Really good guns. Mine is a 595 and it shoots awesome! You rarely ever hear a bad thing about Tikka.

I have a T3 Lite in .308 and love it. Very accurate out of the box and bolt is as smooth as silk. The only negative I can think of is that Tikka uses the same long action receiver for long and short actions, so you don't get a shorter bolt throw with a short action like you normally would. Otherwise a top notch rifle.

I lucked out and got a T3 stainless lite in 6.5 x 55, love it, smoothest action ever, plus the 6.5 will take just about anything in North America. Tikka is just a step below Sako. great rifle, great price. you wont regret it if you can get one.

lots of plastic on them tikka"s...and if you loose the mag it is expensive to replace.

Having said that, if texaspatriot.308 wants to sell his 6.5x55 I will be first in line with the cash!!

Have 2 T3 hunters, 270WSM and 338Federal. IMO the slickest actions since the Mannlichers.

Both of these live up to their accuracy guaratee of sun MOA with the loads they like

I too can't say enough good things about them. I'm a huge trigger guy when it comes to rifles and some might rip me for the following but...
Tikka, Browning Xbolt, and Savage have the best factory triggers.

I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

I have a Tikka T3 Lite 25-06. Love it, its always my first go to gun in all situations. The only problem I would say would be the finish on the barrel, its suppose to be stainless but scratches easy. Just cosmetic though, shoots like a dream.

Tikka is a good rifle but you may want to rething getting rid of
a BDL for a Tikka...I don't think most of them are any better than the Remington and many are not as good...Now if you get their 338 Lapua and spend about $2800 you would be upgrading..

I have a M695 in 30.06 It's the most accurate and prettiest rifle I've ever owned. I've had it almost 10 years, other than a few parking lot dings, it looks as good as new. grin

How well does your bdl shoot?

I got a bdl that shoots < 1 inch wether it was guaranteed to or not. I wouldnt trade a rem for one, but I would consider buying one.

Any gun in that price range is ugly. You can't expect a custom grade wood stocks on a 3 figure budget gun. You might feel one is uglier than the other but the person next to you has an opposite view. Classic 'pot calling kettle black' behavior can be witnessed on any thread about Savage when Remington owners as a last resort start calling Savages ugly.

If you want the pretty version of a Tikka, buy a SAKO.

I really don't see anything on a Remington 700 action that would make it any prettier. Maybe a tiny bit less ugly than a Savage but even that is debatable.

In fact they have a bolt stop so the action maybe the same length but the bolt movement depends on caliber. I would take a tikka over a remington any day of the week and twice on Sunday but ymmv

I have some magic beans if anyone is interested. No extra time hunting but they'll make you fart to the tune of Back In Black...
