Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, But rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, Screaming "WHOO HOO What A Ride"

Newton County, Mississippi, 14 Years old.
Old Buck with polished knots almost half dollar dismeter and not over 1/2 inch tall. Shot was less than 10 yards with a Revolation 30-30 with Winchester 150gr Silvertips.

That is still the oldest buck I have killed, do not know age but teeth were warn down to gums and a couple were missing.

Jack County, Tx in either 1979 or 1980. I was 7 or 8, and it was a 8 point shot in the heart with a Winchester Model 43 chambered in 218 Bee.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

It was basically my first deer hunt ever. I bought my rifle that year and I could barely afford it and a scope since I had just graduated high school and was living in a trailer with a friend. I was hunting by myself and had no knife. I was already working in the grocey business stocking groceries at night and had several box cutters in my car and decide to try using them. I worked my way through it all by myself not knowing what I was doing at all. I still use that same rifle today(remington 270 adl) even though I have newer more expensive ones.

I was always a small game hunter untill someone broke into our house and stole my guns. With the insurance money I decided to buy my first deer rifle and it was the best thing I ever did.

Burnet County I believe at Balcones Canyonlands, 10 YO shot with Grandfathers m70 1961 .270 with corlocks. I had missed a buck earlier and we were hunting with my Dad, Pastor, and his son. After I missed, a doe was piddling around and Larrys son Josh shot it. Not 5 minutes later a doe snuck up about 20 yards in front of our blind and I shot her in the neck. Biggest hole I have ever seen on a deer.!
