I never keep water inside of my dog boxes. I don't think it would stay there long, plus it would spill. I mentioned that Chris E joined us for our 13 covey hunt Saturday, with his tricked out Ranger. Here's what he keeps in his dog boxes. What do you guys do?

Its probably not a bad idea but Ive never kept water in my dog boxes. Just figured most of it would windup on the floor of the box.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

i don't, butterbean (named after the rodeo bull) would just make a mess; she gets all she wants from my canteen or water bottle, and there's always some back at the truck or camp....

we water them before, during and after, none in the box.

We will put water in a pan in the box on the Polaris Ranger when it is hot, but not in the box on the trailer where they sleep or travel, seems like they will drink better and stay hydrated better with water in the box on the ranger. Like I said this is only when it is hot and I am changing dogs out all the time. They are watered before they are put up, the water that spillis in the box just seems to help cool them down.

I have a flat sided SS pail I hang from the door of her crate for long trips. Once we start hunting, start/stop, rough roads, etc. I pull the pail and she waters from a water bottle.

No water in my boxes. I carry the water in a small cooler (made to hold a six pack of beverages). Keeps the water cool, does not freeze, and easy to pull out and pop open the lid. When they're done, close lid and move on.

I don't keep any water in my dog compartments, they'll end up spilling it everywhere.

A lady named Kelly took the picture. I thought it was a really good picture. I simply added the caption.

I always water my dogs when they are called in to be changed out on a hunt. I don't fill the bowls more than about 1/2 full...often I fill it a couple of times for them if they drink it all immediately. If they spill it, oh well...they can lay in it. On lots of days down here, it is hot, and they're hot, so it can't do any thing but help them cool down. I have drain holes at the lower edge of each of the six dog boxes on my truck, so it never gets to be much of a problem other than a damp floor anyway.
