I know this is a more gear related question but since it mainly regards waterfowl hunting I figured I would post it here.

I bought my wife a Yildiz O/U 20 ga. that has been used mainly for shooting skeet, but seeing as we are about to go south to shoot the beaks off some birds I was wondering a few things.

First, I'm pretty sure that you can shoot up to 3" shells out of it. (It says 3" on the barrel but doesnt specifically say that you can chamber 3" like my other guns do) Has anyone had any experience with 3" shells out of this gun? Is it capable of it?

Second, I assume that steel shot wouldnt be a problem but I wanted to make sure that it will not screw up the gun. Anybody know about this?

I know these may seem like stupid questions, but I would rather seem like a dummy than look like one in the field with a jacked up gun. Thanks for the help

I have a Yildiz 20 ga and I shoot 3in steel out of it all the time. That was my main gun during teal season.

It kicks pretty good with the 3 inchers. Steel is only good through modified with this gun and a general rule with most. My barrel and stock tubes look new from shooting steel so far this season. Dropped some spoonies and a pintail with mine so far. Love this gun.

Put a Limb Saver recoil pad on it. I love my 20 gauge.

I have the Yildiz 12 & 20 and like them both. You will be fine with the 3's as everyone has said. Also here is a tip for you,I took my guns apart and put Teak oil on the wood because I do hunt mine in water and if that wood is not treated then it wont last long. Also my 12g has custom chokes in
them a Mod & Impv.Mod made by Seminole custom chokes.
Here are some pics.

@Muddyfoot: Which chokes are you using in that Yildiz? I haven't seen any for them that don't sit flush with the end of the barrel. Whatever they are, do you like them?
