He was a generous, friendly and helpful guide that shared his knowledge and obviously enjoyed what he did. You can't ask for a better guide and I would go again with him if I could afford more guided trips and lived in the area. I enjoy hunting with other people so a guide shooting doesn't bother me in the least. If it bothers you, ask him not to shoot.

cheers So simple. So reasonable. So effective.

When I originally made this post I was only trying to give credit to a good guide who deserves it. I dont know how this post got out of hand.

This is the second time that I have hunted with JJ and my son-in-law and I are both completely happy with him and his services.

The first time we hunted with him, we had a lot more action and he did shoot and that was OK with us as we both got our limit without his help.

JJ has excellent places to hunt and he did a lot of work to get the decoys and everything set up for us to have an enjoyable morning.

I realize that no one is perfect and that if someone else has issues with JJ or anyone else, that is their problem. All I know is that my son-in-law and I had a great time, both times that we hunted with JJ and that we plan on hunting with him again next year. In fact, I would like to hunt with him at least twice if not more, if I can afford it.

Hopefully this will be the end to this post!!

Great summary. Well expressed.

These threads are worse than highschool drama..If you have to go on a guided hunt to kill birds, then maybe you don't got it all figured out and need some help. Sometimes for the hunt to be successful, the guide needs to shoot some. I know when I guide one day, my shotgun will be in the blind. I don't hunt for the nancy reasons, the only thing I find prettier than birds working the spread, is them laying dead in the water.

What a laugh. "It's not the place...but don't mind me if I throw some ad hominem out there."

I've never met or hunted with JJ but I've read plenty of friendly threads on his service and I'll take those over your cryptic B.S. about knowing better anyday.
