i got my first gun yesterday!
savage axis .243!
im hoping to get some hogs and cyotes..maby a deer or two!

Get a good scope, have someone help a little with properly mounting it, and go nuts. That 243 is an awesome round.

thanks guys!its definitely an awesome feeling! and it came with a Bushnell 8x9 on it!but i gotta go to a range and zero it in. i got 40 rounds of 100 grain winchesters to go crazy with too

I wish I started with a rifle. I started off with hand guns and didnt catch the rifle bug for years. Savage makes some seriously nice guns.

congrats adam, now the addiction has begun. I started with a remington 870 20 guage 6 years ago, now i have 2 pistols, 30-06, 12 guage, 410, and 22 rifle.....

Not only zero at the range but practice. Vary the distance (learn your hold overs), different posistions (prone, kneeling, ect)
The .243win might just be the perfect "first" centerfire cartridge out there. Good luck.
