Needed a Win. Model 70 barrel cut down & tried a local DFW gunsmith. He said 3-6 months to get it done:( So, I did some asking around & got the name John Beers in Carrollton.

Went to see him today after calling him, and he actually pulled work off the lathe & did my barrel job on the spot for less than 1/2 what the original gunsmith was asking. While working, he talked about his days as a pilot, an industrial machinist, and lots of talk about custom gun work.

He's as nice a man as I have ever met, and paid attention to every fine detail when working on my gun. He's retired, enjoys the work, and expressed that he'd like to have a few more customers.

Should you need what appears to be a very solid and knowledgeable gunsmith with seriously quick turnaround times, his number is 972-245-7632.
