Beer of the world beware. I'll kill an 18 pack just to watch it die.

There was a post a couple years ago from a guy who killed an 8pt I think? I'll see if I can dig that up..

I hunted the LBJ for the first time ever back in Mid-November. I did see one deer, not sure if it was a buck or a doe because I spooked it out of some timber and all I saw was the tail.
The officer that I talked to that works the grasslands, told me that he had seen 2 or 3 bucks taken opening weekend.
The deer are there, but as with any other public land, it will be a hard hunt.
This next year I will put in for a doe tag.

No but I did see a small 6 point during archery season about 6 years ago. Also had a friend of mine miss "the biggest buck I've ever seen in my life" when his arrow clipped a branch and was deflected.

Ive never taken a deer from there, but have seen some really bigs ones taken from there. That place is kind of confusing at first, but there are some book deer in that area.

I killed an 8 point this bow season at LBJ. It was late October, and the bucks were starting to chase does. I had a small 4 point chasing 2 does around 75 yards away when the 8 pointer came in from behind me. I stopped him at 22 yards - could barely make a grunt sound - and placed the arrow behind the shoulder. It was my best buck with a bow thus far. Nothing major, but very nice for public land archery.
