The night hunting has been exceptional in north Texas this year and the coyotes just keep coming! Jared and myself have had the best year for predators we have ever had and have been fortunate to have several "rock stars" (camera friendly animals wanting to be famous) respond to a call this season. After all, they are the real stars of the show anyway. Here are a few from this past Saturday.

This coyote was the first victim of the night and acted very unusual for how most coyotes will respond to a call. She stood in this position for over an entire minute trying to decide what to do. You can usually tell when the wheels are turning when they start rolling their head from side to side. Coyotes still tell off on themselves if you pay enough attention.

After her better judgement kicked in, jared got the green light when she turned and started to leave. We took this coyote at 80 yards shortly after this still was taken. After several years of filming and killing animals at night, we have learned that our best footage comes when we give every animal a chance to come as close as " they " want to come and not shoot them the first time they stop. As a result, we have become better hunters by studying how predators will respond to various situations by having them on their feet longer. Unless we give them a chance to come in as close as we want them or until they get ready to leave, we would be wondering " how close would they have come " and how good the footage " could have been ". The reward is something that is not replaceable in footage that we can enjoy for the rest of our lives and provide for the publics enjoyment alike. We are confident that you won't want to miss the next season of CARNIVORE.

This coyote was on top of us quick! He actually started to leave and spun around to come back after hearing something a little different.

This is what happens when a coyote runs into a round to the neck at 40 yards. He was at peace shortly after this picture was taken.

Overall, it was a great night of hunting as the animals cooperated and everyone managed to close the deal on our end. We will post a few other stills from that night a little later. Take care Chris and Jared

Great job Chris and Jared!!! I have said it before and I will say it again, NO ONE, BUT NO ONE gets better night footage than CARNIVORE'S NIGHT CREW. You boys are in a league of your own!
Thanks and Merry Christmas,
