ok this may be a dumb question but i have always wondered about this. when we (as in all of us on this forum) shoot a deer and tag it and then take it to the processor or whatever you may do with it, does your tag get written down or recorded? What is to stop a person from shooting two bucks in a one buck county? and i dont mean a big bucka dn a spike, i mean two big bucks? i am just curious.

The Whitetailed Deer Log on the back of hunting licenses
that is required to be filled in for each tag used is
what would tell a game warden what/where.

Yes, there is a log, complete with the info off of your tag. My processor attaches the tag to the log, next to your entry.

I don't think newby84 was insinuating that you would. This forum is full of jests and pokes and his was noted with the bolt ( bolt) Heck I do it quite a bit myself. bang

Friend, I wouldn't harm thee for all the world, but thou art standing where I am about to shoot.

Additionally, on the back of your Hunting License are three Boxes
One for Antlerless One for Buck and a Box with an asterick that must be checked if you shoot a Buck that has an inside spread of 13" or greater if that has any bearing on your question.

Another thing also, we used to debone our kill except for the shoulders, ie: hams, straps, tenders shoulders..about 4 zip lock
bags hill country deer...up to 6 or 7 for So. Texas buck...One
of our older game warden friends advised us that although he could identify the hams without the bones...Newer Wardens would
probably write us up...even though they can sex the meat ect..
