I know there are probably not many who have followed my live thread this year, so I'll post a pic here as well. Mostly b/c work is slow and I am bored of my a$$.

I first saw this deer in mid-November from a mobile tripod I had setup on a 4-way intersection straddling two 400 acre brush pastures. After passing on him that afternoon, I was kicking myself for letting what I though was a 130 class 7-point go, and a unique one on top of that. I hunted a couple times close to that spot at Thanksgiving, but not from the tripod in that location, and never saw him.

First weekend of December I cut out early on Friday and moved the tripod back. Corned the roads each way and got in about 2:00. Upon climbing into the stand I saw a buck 700 yards to my North. The spotting scope revelaed it was him. Not wanting to shoot that far, I climbed back out and stalked to within 90 yards. Crawled out on my belly and dropped him.

129 3/4" with a 6.5" kicker of the back of G2. Still has velvet on it.

That's why I like S. Texas. The culls are usually bigger than the trophies in the Hill Country. Good kill. Congrats.

Thanks fellas, this deer has been the only bright spot in an otherwise boring year, the horns are so down right now.
