I know that we will just have to wait and see but I can't help but wonder if ... Remingtons acquisition of marlin will hurt the quality of marlin. Do you expect them to do away with the model 39? Will they use the remington name somewhere on the marlins? How much will they raise the price? will they have some of them made out of country. I really like marlin and I wish they could have remained independent or if a company had to buy them, I wish it were Ruger.

Only time will tell, it will definitely add value to any Marlin made before the sale. Two years ago I won a Remington 700 in a deer contest. I think it was the cheapest sporting rifle I've ever held in my hands. My Savage 340 had more character than this generic mass of plastic and steel. I gave the rifle away and actually had a tough time doing that. I asked a number of my friends if they wanted it and they all said "no".
I have an impressive collection of Marlins. I will keep buying them as long as they keep the characteristic markings that identify them as Marlins.
The good thing is that there are millions of Marlins out there that will always and only be a Marlin!

As far as marins go, I have a 336ss and a 39A, but I really want a 94C. This was not a goodtime. Between the holidays and dental work, I am broke. I expect all of the current 94C's to be snatched up quickly. Hopefully everything will stay the same until this summer and I can pick one up.

Cerberus owns now-Bushmaster which bought Cobb Manufacturing, Remington which bought Marlin and DPMS. Now all they need is a company which sells Pistols.

Guess that will leave Mossberg as the remaining family owned company is the U.S. Mossberg is only a few blocks away from the Marlin HQ.
Wonder too, what the new merger will do to NEF, since most of their guns were made overseas!
