My family has 30 acres near Mt. Pleasant in east TX that I hunt on. My uncle called me yesterday morning about 9:30am. I see his name on the caller ID and am thinking he is calling to rub it in my face that he got a deer that morning. He immediately asks me if I moved his and my game cameras last weekend when I was out there. I said, "No". He said, "Well there gone so someone stole them."

I know I'm not the first to have this happen, but man does it piss me off. Now money I was planning to spend on other hunting equipment will have to be spent on a new game camera, another SD card, and a security box to put it in. If I find the jerk that stole them, he will get an ole fashion arse whoopin!

Rant over

Had my sd card stolen but never my camera luckily. I made metal boxes after that to put them in. It also seems to help with the life of the camera actually. Keeps the weather off of em

A mature buck might be a deer, but you can bet it's a totally different animal

Yeah, you can go over to chasingame.com and find a recipe for a metal enclosure that you can weld up to protect your cameras from pilferers. Also, on the same site, there are some clever ideas how to hide your cameras (like inside a rusty 55-gal drum laying on its side).

It's a shame that we have to lock up our hunting stuff just like it's a car or house. Tis the world we live in.....

I understand I had 2 Stealth Cam with external battery packs stolen this year. I hate a thief more than anything.

This is ridiculous! A person cannot even photo his game on private land without some thief stealing his stuff!

Make you wonder who is snooping around your stuff???

Makes you want to hide a cam on your access routes just to nail the buggers!

This was happening on our lease. I put my camera on a travel route and that has kept it safe. Thieves are too lazy to look past the feeder. Shouldn't have to go through the trouble but it is what it is...

The cameras and feeders could be seen from the fence line. It is crazy that I am now going to have put cameras on my cameras. I think I heard of someone that placed a game camera up in the tree pointed at the game camera pointed at the feeder. I am also going to place some new (there were existing signs) "No Trespassing" signs on the fence line.

That sucks. I now try to buy cameras that accept a Python cable lock.

I'd like to invent a camera that gives a thief about a million volts if he trys to steal it. Then mount another camera to record all the fun. smile

I just bought a new Stealth Cam and was excited to see what it captured, not to mention be able to finally hear audio too. I went to check it and it is gone. I searched the property because I have forgotten where I placed them before but I always remember in a few minutes. I like to move mine around a lot. That isn't the case this time because I had downloaded the Trail Cam Manager App and had entered the gps location. I usually don't put them near a trail or fenceline. I did. I am mad about that but I am also mad that someone is walking the property. If they didn't want to be seen on the camera I wish they had stolen the card. I also posted new signs, but I know that will only keep out honest people who aren't going in anyway.

I have seen raccoons shake my cameras before but this new one had a buckle strap so I am not sure if an animal could have gotten it off the tree. I hope by some stoke of good luck that some animal did get it off the tree and I find it somewhere else on the property soon but it is doubtful since I spent hours looking for it. Any suggestions on how not to get cameras stolen? I need to disguise way better.
