Is this a one year gig, or possible long term lease?

This will be my first year, but I'm hoping for at least 5-10 years. Maybe longer

Some additional info on the property.

The east side is high fenced, and the other sides are low. I was told the two ranches we pass through are not going to be hunted.

This place is FAR AWAY from San Diego....about 38 miles or so.

Jeff

Yeah, I plugged the coordinates in and saw where the camp was etc. Definately out in the stix (which is a good thing). Only thing I'm not to excited about is the distance from the casa, however I'm going to take a look at it again on satillite and try to make up my mind.

Appreciate the info!

Hi Jeff,

Is the spot still open? If so, have you any game pics and are there any stands in place? Are 4 wheelers welcome, etc? Thanks.

Chris

I take 665 to Alice, 44 to San Diego, 359 to Benavides, FM2295 to 16, then about 7-8 miles to County Road 313

The spot is still open...but no game camera pics. I've only been on this lease for a month.

At this time we have 3 hunters, 3 blinds, and 3 feeders. We would like a 4th hunter to brind a blind and feeder. The agreement we made was to hunt out of each others blinds, that way each person had a chance to hunt different parts of the property.

4 wheelers are no problem

Jeff

Is this a year round access to the property lease or just hunting season?

Will there be any organized work days in off season to prep blinds or site rifles in during the summer etc?

The lease agreement is for the hunting season only. I spoke with the land owner and she said if you're planning on returning next season, 'and' YOU MUST CALL HER....it would be ok to go out there during the off season. We've already talked about filling feeders, mowing sendero's and stuff like that. The land owner said it's Ok, just that she wants to be called first.

She did say if you're not coming back next season...your stuff
(blinds, feeders, trailers) needs to be moved off by sometime in March.

You hunted it yet?

Hows it look, I've been hearing mixed reviews from Duval County.

As a matter of fact, I'm in a blind right now. I'm amazed
this place even gets cell service. This morning
we've seen a ton of does, 4 really nice bucks...
But a little too young to shoot just yet. I'll post again
Tuesday when I get home

I plan on buying one this weekend. Maybe I'll have some
next week. One of the other hunters has a few setup, but I've
not seen his pics. Between now and Jan 15th should be very busy down there

Jeff

Sounds good, mainly just curious to see how the land looks. I can't find a topo map of that area. You been seeing allot of action? Deer, hogs, coyotes, chupacabra's?

Look at 27 28 32N
98 41 50W on Google Earth...thats our camp. The hunting area is north, east and west. You'll also notice a large clearing of land near the old house/barn area. I'm thinking perfect foodplot location.

We've seen plenty of deer, a bunch of javelina. Last weekend I saw a coyota and a bobcat. Hopefully this weekend I'll also see a very nice 8 pointer I saw last Sunday morning.

Cheers!

Due to my Uncles health....

Once again we have an opening on our lease in Duval County. FAR
away from San Diego and no chance of poaching or theft.

The email address I originally posted was wrong It's

toysupra63@ gmail dot com

It's still $1500 for the deer season, and the owner has very strict rules about her property. No does and no birds, nothing under 8 points. No guests

Dec of 2011 I shot a very nice 10 point
January of this year I shot a decent 8 point
