I need some help finding some stuff that attracts deer. Whats some good cheap stuff that will bring in the nice ones?

Ive had this tripod feeder out since august and been feeding. ive put pairs and doe p out also. i have a few doe but nothing big

I've tried the various scents and calls with really mixed results. I've noticed that the wrong scent can alarm them more than attract. For example, dominant buck scent will alarm the bejeezus out of some bucks and does.

Try putting out some piles of sweet horse feed. The cheapest stuff works fine. Something about that smell of molasses really gets their attention. It's really a way attracting MORE deer to an area, not necessarily bigger ones, but you never know as they can smell it for miles. By the way, I had never seen Axis deer on my lease until the very morning after I poured some sweet feed out near my feeders. My cameras caught them there that next morning for the first time. It works.

Definitely. Just ask the man for the cheapest bag of sweet horse feed they have. Take it out the day before you hunt, if possible, and pour it into piles near, not under, within the range of the corn it spits out, your feeder. If not, take a bucket of said feed with you on your way to the stand and dump it out as close to the feed area as you can without disturbing the area too much. Do not try to run it through your feeder as the sticky molasses will really gum stuff up. With a little peace and quiet and a little breeze, critters from a good ways off will smell it and come looking for it.

Well according to some on here you should try, and not in any particular order or combination:
Indian Corn
Buck Crack
C'mere Deer
Buck Bomb

I'm sure there's others that I'm leaving out but I'm also sure that someone will chime in with other gimmicks that you must try.

Me personally, I just use regular ol' corn. Works everytime.

There you go boyd, 2 that say molasses in some form or the other. Write us back and tell us what and how you do. By the way, Sweet horse feed runs about 13 buck a bag for the cheaper stuff. Thats not much more than corn.

Yeah i wont stop giving them corn. They stay a good 10 ft away from the feeder. they dont go up to it. my camera cant even take good pics at night because they are so far away

Really? There might be something about the feeder spooking them, or is the feeder a new experience to them? I've always got deer standing dang near on top of mine and waiting for it to go off.

Well i just moved it to this new place i august so they arent used to it i dont guess... and thats amazing how they are under your feeder when it goes off.

Yeah before i moved the feeder they came up to it like that... and your camera takes good night pics. mine dont take them like that.

awesome thanks im going to use that to the fullest i just saw my first doe and buck yesterday morning but I put out some buck p the night before and the doe and buck didn't go nowhere near it. but I was going to get some c'mere deer but I know it can be expensive but we go some all stock feed were feeding the lamb its sticky and full of molassas. so im going to try that

Been a lean year. I have tons of does, some young boys like that one, and quite a few young spikes. I'm just not seeing anything older. all young this year.

what kind of "sweet horse feed" are you getting and where from? I usually get my feed from Mumme's.
