I am looking into this round and I am intrigued by it. Does anyone here shoot it? Has anyone made the brass for it using 223 brass? Ammo cost and availability are going to be the determining factor for me but if I can make the brass myself easy enough I won't have to worry about it too much. I have an upper that hasn't had a caliber designated for it either gonna be a 223, 6.8, or 300BLK. Decisions decisions

I own and build a lot of these. Seems to be really popular right now. I have made brass but found it easier to buy new rounds and reload. Remington and CMMG both make ammo pretty cheap. I also make ammo for about half of what new ammo costs. It's an awesome caliber and I have found it to be very versitile. Has taken the place of my 9mm AR. Also is one of the best rounds to suppress. Works awesome with my new recon 9 suppressors.

I've loaded both super- and subsonic. You can make your own brass easily, it's not really that much work. Of course, brass isn't expensive for it and I would probably buy if one of my chambers wasn't a wildcat (300 Fireball) with a long neck.

Already mentioned but 300BLK brass is cheap. Seems like a round that will be very cheap to shoot with reloads.
An amazingly quiet round with a can. I really couldn't believe my ears when I heard it the first time.

Seriously the time it takes to make the stuff, it's cheaper to buy the brass. Several sources of it by now. I posted a link where you can get 1000 pieces of processed brass for around 110 dollars shipped to your door. If you want to make it there are plenty of sources on the web. http://www.theoutdoorstrader.com/showthread.php?t=67339

So what do I need to make the brass myself? Anyone got a step by step for it? 1) Take a fired .223 case and run it through with a 300BLK sizer die with a 7mm ball and no primer pin. 2) Cut the excess casing (I use a small pipe cutter and for faster processing a press drill). 3) (optional but I do this) Anneal the case 4) Run it through with the sizer die with 7.62mm ball and primer pin 5) Trim to lenght 6) (if necessary) Neck turn

Hey guys, got on board with this round in Sept. so far it has given 3 pigs dirt naps. I have made my own brass just to do it. DON'T do it, too much work. I have been buying brass formed, sized and trimmed. Ready to load, (but I still work on it, just the way I am.) $140/1000 but Remington has now released some, see MidwayUSA. By the way, RSILVERS, is the project manager, and force behind this round! Thanks RS, you have cost me a fortune, but its been FUN!!! Building ver.2.0 on a billet lower!

Delta Company Arms has barrels on the Cheap, and great quality at that the only thing that sucks is the lead times.
