good bad or great? which neoprene waders would you go with?

Thanks but I just posted that website for a refrence to the waders I'm interested in. I found some very cheap. Just really wondering about quality.

They are good waders. I have used them in the past. Will work in Texas because it doesn't get that cold. I switched brands because of the cold weather that I have to wear them in.

I saw those at Academy, but I went with the cool Game Winners that were next to them. I already have 3.5 MM neoprene and wanted something little different. The new ones are 3.5 neoprene for hips/legs, but the upper half is lightweight & breathable. I like that cuz that's where you get hot/sweaty but can more easily add/remove layers. These come clear up over my chest (my neoprenes don't come that high), so I feel more secure in some of those questionable sloughs. Where I am, in SETex, it doesn't really get that cold, maybe teens and water temps in the 40's, so 3.5 mm is all that's needed.

I have not had good luck with the hodgeman waders, the boot soles pulled off on two different pairs... maybe they have fixed the problem. I currently use lacrosse and cabella's waders, [depending on the situation] and have had no problem. I have found that one can not go wrong spending a little more money when it comes to duck hunting gear.

i have had terrible luck with hodgman waders. I did not have the neoprene waders, but had the lakestream light for flyfishing. They did not last a season. The inner layer began to delaminate from the outer layer really really bad. I am one who takes really good care of my gear. I rinsed them off after every trip, and they still delaminated. It was only a mater of time before they started leaking very very badly.

The deal breaker for me and hodman was their customer service. They basically said sorry and would not replace them even though they were less than a year old. Just FYI..hodgman is a division of coleman..so you deal with coleman customer service...Which from my experience has been terrible.

I did some reasearch on the web and found out that many people had the same issue and customer service treated them poorly.

We still have to break through the ice around these parts. Not every hunt, but it gets cold enough. Always get the best you can afford IMO. I'm lucky enough to have 3 different kinds for various hunting/fishing circumstances. That said...
Hodgeman bites.

I've been wearing some hodgemans for years without any problems.

Hodgman has been in the wader business a long time and make a very good product. Academy has a good price on them if you can find your size. They are owned by Coleman now. I was suprised to see so few choices on their website. I have gone to that same site during the off season and see them discounted as much as 60%. I bought my last two pair from the website, a pair of neoprene "Caster" in Max 4 Advantage and a pair of breathable in MOB, couldn't believe how much cheaper they were online. I guess they just don't have much at this time of year.

Don't buy anything but macks prairie wings brand!!!!!!! Spend a little bit more money and buy the best neo waders on the market!! I've owned cabelas brand and after a year the seams leaked!!

Im not a rich man but i know that if you spend a little more money on hunting gear you usually get what you pay for!!! I will never buy any other brand of waders as long as macks prairie wings is in business!

I bought some two years ago from Coleman. The kind that zip down to the crotch. Best waders I have ever had, easy to put on, easy to pee, and have not leaked.

I bought a pair of stocking foot wadelites (pre-breathable) in the mid 90s that finally died last season. About 14-15 years old.

I now have my father's stocking foot breathable wadelites from the first season they were available as a breathable. I had to patch where the neoprene feet met the wader material over the summer, but I probably have a few years left in them.

The new owners may be the kiss of death.

I have the Dura-Mag 5MM 1200 Neoprene and I like them.

do those have the H style straps? I think I'm going with the Brighton 800 3.5s because they have the fleece lined straps instead of the H style. I think the H style would stretch over time.

They have a fleece lined strap with quick release buckles and hook and loop closure.

Actually ndhunter he's asked what waders you would go with!!!!! Not just about hodgeman brand!!! I wouldn't recommend a crap product to anyone but a topwater! Buy a 80$ pair of waders every year or buy a 200$ pair once maybe every 5years?? Buy what y'all want. Im just recommending a great product that some people are leary of buying because of the price!

My , Mack's PW waders are all I will ever buy for 5MM. They aren't cheap but they're the best IMHO.
