Does anyone out there have free roaming cows and horses on their lease, and does it affect their hunting success?
Thanks

I have cows on my property. 3 of our feeders are inside feeder pens, but my bowstand feeder is not. The cows do affect me some. They usually saunder by around daylight. I am putting up a pen as soon as season is over. I should have done it years ago, but I guess I have been too lazy.

I have witnessed many times multiple deer out in the fields and then all of a sudden they will get real nervous and then dart off into the woods. Only minutes later the cattle will appear. I don't get it!!! they live with them year around. Yet I have watched them only glance at a "strange" truck drive through the same field with no reaction at all.

We have cows on our 300 acres and other than them tearing up our feeder pens from time to time I do not think they affect our deer to much. I have never seen them "grazing" together, but I have seen them in the same pastures?

I just have them eating everything from the feeders and anything that we put out. They clean it up and then leave. I have had the horses scratching themselves on my tripod while I was in it. The cows will come up and look into the box blind windows. Spending a lot of money feeding the cows well.

I noticed when the cows get up and start feeding, the deer seem to start moving.

It ain't easy being me.

We have cows and the deer do not even look their direction unless they are within about 30 yards.

We will put out a bag of cubes or corn and this will keep the cows up around the barns while we hunt.

WE HAVE BOTH AND YES I THINK IT SUX !!!
WHERE WE HUNT YOU CAN SEE A 100 YDS OR LESS IN MOST PLACES. VERY FEW TIMES HAVE I SEEN DEER AND LIVE STOCK AT THE SAME TIME PLUS THEY MESS UP A COUPLE OF FEED PENS A YEAR.

I've seen it both ways. About 4 years ago, I got rid of cows to see what would happen. I can't tell that I'm seeing any more deer. However, I haven't had any timers wrecked since I got them off.

Horses? They are just too friendly.
