Send me a PM with what your looking for exactly and I'll answer you fully. I do a lot of research on this subject
A mature buck might be a deer, but you can bet it's a totally different animal

Look on the North side of the line. Anything that as river county holds big deer. You can also look at the cy Curtis awards on the Oklahoma dept of wildlife website to find the other hotspot areas. There are ton of Oklahoma deer never posted or put into awards like cy curtis due to many are from state leased land that comes up for renewal every 5 years

I grew up hunting in Harper and Beaver County, northwest of Woodward, Oklahoma. Most mature bucks field dress near 200 lbs. Not as many deer up there as in Texas, but there are plenty and DFA is right, big deer up there.

The only bad part of Oklahoma is Norman. JK. Every part of OK is great for deer. I'd pick something that is the closest to you.

Honestly there are big deer all over. Oklahoma county has some giants but it will be really expensive since its so close to okc. Cheapest land you will find will be way SE ok. There are plenty of giants down there and a ton of deer. Heaviest body will be up on the ks line and the further nw you get towards the panhandle, the less deer you will find and way less cover. It also depends on what kind of terain you want to hunt as it's way different say NW compared to SE. Is money an option? How far do you want to drive?

Largest whitetail I have ever seen was south west of Woodward while quail hunting about 20 years ago. He stood at about 50 yards for what seemed like 3 minutes before jumping fence and running.I think he would go high 170 or better and there I stood with a shot gun with bird shoot and it was deer season. Hunted him rest of season but never saw him again.

Yeah money is an option, I'm trying to find a lot about 50 acres is about all I can afford. I'm hoping I can get lucky and surrounded by land that is unused around me. I would like a place with lots of cover but have a place or two to set up some nice food plots. Drive doesn't matter much to me if there is a possibility of seeing big horned deer
