No problem Wes70, when ready just call Scott on the number previously posted. Some weekends have been taken already, so if you are planning on going in March, please call Scott to book your hunt.

I have received a lot of inquiries regarding the location, so here it goes, the ranch is about 6 miles north of Meridian, TX.

All the above are legal in Texas for pigs, except grenades, I'm not sure they legal to have much less use hunting . I'd use a BIG revolver or 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun with at least 3" slugs at night. Or a rifle with a large objective, at the very least 40mm for light gathering ,for night time hunting. Daytime gun or bow, but I'd opt for a gun if I had to pay to shoot pigs, to make sure I got what I payed for. Not that I'm not proficent with a bow, but a gun puts'em down faster and you may get follow-up shots on more than one at a time. Rarely do you get more than one shot with a bow.

Hunting is more to me than Antlers on the wall. It's more about the memories you make, and sharing those memories with friends, and family.

Is that near Ted Nugents ranch?

For the recent questions.

1) The choice of weapon is yours, but as someone already mentioned you would probably be more effective with a rifle.
2) About been close to Ted Nugent's ranch or not, I have no idea where Ted's ranch is.

I hope that your questions where answered and if there is any other questions, just let me know.

TEXASLEFTY,
Thanks for the clarification on Ted's ranch info. This means that Ted's ranch would be probably about 35-45 miles south of this ranch.

I had several inquiries about using either a bow or a rifle, the weapon is entirely your choice.
I also just got off the phone with Scott and he told me that he still has a few weekends available.

Can you accomodate a quadrapledgic hunter with wheelchair and gun/bow rig. I have a good friend in NY State that is dying to come here to hunt hogs. How late in the year are hunts available?
Thanks--John

hntnfsh,
I don't see a problem accomodating your friend from NY, the only thing would be that you or who ever comes with him, would need to help him go up the stairs to the hunting blind (some are as low as 3 feet high and others as high as 6 feet), then the wheelchair I imagine can fold and then be setup inside the blind with no problems.
To your second question, the hunts can be scheduled up until right before the deer season begins in 2008 (bearing weather conditions)
So if you want, please contact Scott at (817)791-2993 to schedule your hunt.

spy231,
I don't do the bookings and I don't have the schedule with all of the already booked days or weekends. Please call Scott (817)791-2993 to inquire about available dates/weekends or to book your hunt.

Jhunter77,
The maximum amount of hunters taken for a particular day or weekend is 4, even though there are over 16 hunting blinds with over 25 feeders in the ranch, the idea is to give each of those hunters an extremely fair chance to bag hogs with no problems at all.

By now, quite a few people from the forum have hunted the hogs with the vast majority of them been successful (the ones that were awake).

I personally went last Thursday night and bagged 2 on the same night, the hog activity continues to be pretty high.

Some people have been asking me how do you see the hogs at night. Every feeder has a "motion detector" activated light that shines plenty of light to see all the hogs at the feeder when they arrive (you better be awake) and if you have a semi-automatic rifle, you can pop a few of them before they start running.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. And for those already interested in booking a hunt, please contact Scott at (817)791-2993.
