I have been lucky enough to take a few good deer the past 2 years with my bow which has my 11 yr old fired up about getting a bow. I am going to check with Native Outdoors here locally but wanted to see what you guys think. We will start out with a lot of practice obviously but will probably take him hog hunting with me after I think he is ready so I will need a good enough bow that will not break the bank.

Here's the deer from this year. 10/01/11 @ 7:25am.

There are several good youth bows out there, my grandson shoots a Parker Sidekick XP, you can change out the limbs as they grow, but over time his bow has nothing STOCK on it anymore, it is pretty much tricked out.

Diamond Razor Edge. Wide draw length and weight adjustment range.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

Appreciate the list. Will see if I can find a shop he can try a few of these. Based on the ones listed I think I will look at the Parker, Diamond, and Mission. Thanks again.

Mission at Smithfield archery, Diamond at Bass Pro and Parker at Cabelas. If you decide on the Diamond pm me. I have a very gently used one that needs a new home. My son grew 3" in one year.

Check out the spcecs on the new Bear Apprentice 2. Your son will be able to shoot/hunt with that bow for some time. I just purchased one yesterday at Bass Pro for $279 loaded.
