Wow, not impressed at that shot placement one bit; not trying to be a prick but brother get some shooting lessons. That is a prime example why you don't take those hard quartering away shots, I ran the video over and over, you hit her on her hind end. I know you're proud but videos like that are what give US (bow hunters) a bad name.
I would not have posted that at all!
That is some good PETA material.

Looked to me like the doe went down in sight. Personally i would have waited until the doe was broadside, but he must have hit some vitals.

Thats a better shot than yall are making out. Where the broadhead comes out is more important than going in. It took the liver and off side lung, guaranteed.
And just for the record, I have bowhunted for over 30 years and have taken plenty of animals. Not bragging, just saying before I am accused of not knowing what I am talking about

That is some good PETA material. It died, very quickly at that. I must have watched a different video than you....if you watch it in slow-motion you can tell that the shot entered about 6 inches behind the front shoulder quartering away. That is within two inches of an ideal quartering away shot. It must be nice to have never taken or landed a less than perfect shot. Nice kill!

Its easy to shoot a deer broadside when your shooting at your 3D target in your back yard. In a real hunting situation its a different story. Great shot placement IMO and a very effective kill.

I didn't see a hind quarter hit. But then again I am getting older. Looked like just behind the rib cage right up into the chest cavity. Either way it went down close.
That said I would have waited for a more broad side shot. But that is because I suck at quartering away shots.

I would wait for a broadside shot. However, that did not seem to be a bad quartering shot to me. Looked like it entered right around the last rib. Pretty sure if she was hit in the hind end she would not have dropped right there.

That is some good PETA material. Are you kidding me? That was a good shot! the doe ran what 20yds! He did not hit it in the hind end! "PETA material" Give me a brake! This guy makes a good shot and all of a sudden you are the next coming of Fred Bear and are critisizing his shot placement! Take care of your own stuff and leave keep PETA fears to yourself! Why is this a Prime example of why you dont take hard qtr away shots? What is wrong with it?

That is some good PETA material. Seriously? Guess I saw a different video. Arrow penetrated in front of the hind quarter and trajectory would take the broadhead directly into the vitals. The animal drops shortly and expires quickly. Talk about giving someone a bad a name..sheesh To the OP: Congrats on a swift and effective kill with your bow

I also think It was a good shot, and the deer seemed to go down quickly and ethically

That is some good PETA material. Looks like a good shot to me and she was DRT within a matter of seconds. As for your comments, bjankowski, they are ridiculous. You are giving yourself a bad name for basically attacking a fellow bowhunter and forum member who simply posted a self-filmed bowhunting video of a deer going down within view, not the video. Takoma good shot brother regardless of what one person who apparently hasn't ever made a less than perfect shot in his life has to say.....

Good Shot and I like the video. Takoma11, I look forward to seeing another video from you. It is a shame that on any forum like this one, that a man can't say something without getting comments from a certain type of elite individual that can do anything better than anyone else and is ate up with ethics. All you self proclaimed experts need to back off!!!! It is people like you that turns the rest of us off and might keep someone from posting on this site. To the rest of my fellow archers, keep flinging arrows..... aim small, miss small......pick a spot!!!! Good Luck

From a man that has bow hunted for over 40 years. Good Shot. Axis was dead within 20 seconds. I would have also waited for a more broadside shot but you did great in shot placement.
