We are in the outfitting business and have been using these Johnny Boxes out in the field for about 2 years now. What we are doing is trying to convert our pen raised birds to birds that can make it in the wild after a month or 2 in these boxes. You can also let them nest in there and raise the birds. There is very little contact with the birds. You do all your feeding and watering from the outside. Water will last around 3 weeks depending on the temp. We have a door on the upper portion that drops open and the birds fly out. At night they can come back and go thru the little chute for them. You just leave one bob in there to call the others back. We try to do this at least every other day. It seems to be working although we do some extra feeding and planting in the field. If anyone is interested we are building these for $950 with 30 quail in the box. We can deliver and set them out at your ranch for an additional charge. We are in hopes that this will help repopulate the quail. It has helped us on our ranch and it seems to be working.

Thanks,

Billy
