Told you could only hunt one county in the state of Texas for the rest of your life which one would it be? Why would you choose that one: close to home, animal population, hunting regulations, chance at an animal of a lifetime, environment, surrounding areas, etc. Just seeing some responses and why.

I would choose a county in the Panhandle. Most provide the oppurtunity for a better than average whitetail and the chance at mule deer. They also offer varying terrain types from mesquite flats, hardwood creek bottoms to canyons or grass lands. Lower number of hunters per acre, less deer but enough to keep you interested. My 2cents

I like it, dreaming big thats the key, LOL. I've never hunted in the panhandle, so don't know much about it. But I have hunted other areas and I love the feel of hunting those big river bottom hard woods deer. Just something about it. I would almost end up somewhere in Trinity co. or maybe a little more south. I would lose some varity of animals but as long as I had my whitetails and some turkeys I might be just fine.

coryell or the few surrounding counties. we have always hunted in that area and always had great luck and fun. it is close to home, so far pretty cheap for leases, and plenty of deer and turkey

Any thing that borders the W.T. Waggoner Ranch or the 6666's.

I am with you but since we are dreaming I would take the Waggoner ranch as my county.

Further West and North where big WT's and Muleys overlap is tempting too. Nothing wrong with King county either.
