Has anyone heard anything about this bow or used diamond products before.

Diamond are good bow, but are misleading on their speeds.

They are not getting the speeds out of them that they advertise. Now before you say the other do not either, that is correct. The black ice is advertised at 300+ something IBO but when you get your bow the birth certificate states what the IBO speed is, and that is not anywhere close to what they advertise.

Example: So if they advertise that bow at 310 fps IBO, when you get your bow the birth certificate states it will only do 295 fps IBO. That bow will never get close to 300+ fps as they advertise.

I know what IBO is, but my black ice's BC specs weren't IBO. Most BCs I have seen are usually say 295-300 at 29" draw, which would explain the extra 10fps.

The ones I had in stock said IBO which should be 30" 350gr.

2 I had were 295 and one I had was 292 and they both said IBO. They might of had them marked wrong from the factory or something.

I have shot the marquis and I think that it is a downgrade from the black ice. It feels great and looks great but there is a little more vibration after the shot. Also the draw cycle is a little rougher than the black ice. This is only my opinion. You might love it but I dont think that it is better than the ice.

On the Bowtech and Diamond bows birth certificate it shows the speed next to IBO. It is tested with a 350 grain arrow, at 70#, but "as is" from the factory. That means "with the string silencers on, and at 29 inch draw"
So it is not a true IBO speed, rather a "as is" shipped at 29 inches with this on the string speed.

It's not how far a shot, it's how close you got.

I have an '04 model BowTech VFT Patriot Dually that I'm shooting at 289/290fps with, set at 67#'s and 29". If I were to buy a Diamond, I'd probably get the Black Ice too. I like the new 82nd Airborne better though. BTW they have posted the specs speed mod/IBO and IBO smooth mod. But I don't know the diff.

I found this to be helpful.

If you are truly feeling the need for speed, only one bow company is prepared to
meet the challenge, and we aren’t afraid to back it up. BowTech produces the
fastest bows in the world and every bow is individually lab-tested, and carries a
lifetime warranty.
BowTech, with its patented, revolutionary technology, is determined to fulfill the
number one demand among archers today: maximum speed to target with exceptional
smoothness. BowTech... Taking The Arch Out Of Archery.
How Do Manufacturers Rate Speed?
IBO Speed Ratings are an industry standard of measurement used by all manufacturers.
Speed ratings are based on a bow produced with a draw weight of 70# and
a draw length of 30’’ using a five (5) grain per pound arrow (350 grain). Any deviation
from these settings causes a drop in arrow velocity. NOTE: The chart below
is a general guide for the amount of speed lost when accessories are added to
your string.
String Accessory Speed Loss
Brass Nock 2-4 fps
Peep Sight 3-6 fps
String Silencers 0-6 fps
E-Buttons 2 fps each
Rubber Peep Tube 6-10 fps
String Loop 1-3 fps (without brass nocks)
VibraBlocks 0-2 fps
Speeds vary depending on placement and manufacturer of string added accessories.
Speed loss of arrows over the IBO standard of five (5) grains per pound (350
grains @ 70# draw weight):

While the above is 100% correct about IBO, the birth certificate on each bowtech and diamond shows what that bow crono's for its particular setup. It is not a true IBO, but what the bow does at it's current draw length, rather than 30 inches. The bow's advertised IBO is what the bow would do at 30 inch draw, 70 pounds, nothing on the string, shooting a 350 grain arrow.

Dang, my bow should be shooting about 100fps.
