It would have been nice if he'd raise his head and given a good look at his brisket. Judging by his neck and shoulders I'm going to say 5.5+. I'm betting that his body is a bit down from the drought. Either way, he's mature-post mature and I'd blast away.

Does the neck look funny to anyone else or is it just me? His neck looks huge to me. I was wondering if he's really old or has a gland issue of some sort.

I think the weird bulged area on his neck is limbs from the tree behind him.

I think the weird bulged area on his neck is limbs from the tree behind him. If you look at the video, it looks like it is part of the deer. Does the neck look funny to anyone else or is it just me? His neck looks huge to me. I was wondering if he's really old or has a gland issue of some sort. That is what I was thinking. Never seen one swell like that and figured it was a gland issue or an injury.

Definetly 5.5 maybe older. Look at his huge, saggy gut. Big muscled shoulders and huge neck. It's a bad angle but I would actually put money on 6.5 from what I see there.
A mature buck might be a deer, but you can bet it's a totally different animal

I think he looks 3.5-4.5 years old and im betting his neck is swelling due to an injury of some kind from fighting, poked with a horn etc.. matt

Dang you have a very steady hand. What scope is that? I've thought about doing the same, but never have. Great idea.
