I get a call saying a guy helps out a newbie on here and takes him out to lake x and they do pretty good. The next weekend comes and he calls up dude and says hey do you want to join me, he says no I'm not hunting today. They hang up the phone as they get to the spot and my buddies dog is playing in the road and a truck comes hualing butt down the road, almost hits the dog. One guy gets out sprinting down the to the spot. They both run down there to the new truck and I can't repeat some of the words on here what they said to them especially since it was not only the guy who he took out last week but also he was the one who said he wasn't hunting today!!!

For all newbies on here, this is the lesson of the day- IF SOMEONE TAKES YOU OUT HUNTING, THAT IS NOT YOUR NEW SPOT!

If you're the kind of guy who likes to fight then try that manoeuvre.

That sounds like a lack or morals issue rather than a 'newbie' issue. Maybe the thread should be "The Reason You Don't Take Out Folks Who Lack Scruples."

Newbies make honest mistakes out of ignorance. Just plain lousy folks make calculated attempts to cheat someone who's done them a good turn.

sounds like the guy was just a jerk off. I wouldn't lump it into him being a newb, but maybe that's because I am a newbie but I have respect for other people and don't see a need to lie to someone

I know who it is but I want them explain themselves. Please man up! I have mistakes in my life, I'm not perfect but here's a good opportunity to right yourself.

Yes he is that ugly! But he has to wear the blindfold so he can't find the spot again.

Heck last year we towed a guy in after he walked up to us and the next week he was trying to setup ontop of us. Then he admitted that they had hunted our spot and informed us it was now theirs. They regretted that as they were stranded again and wanted a tow and we left them sitting on a sandbar.

i agree that it has nothing to do with being a noob. Im a noob myself and I would never do anything that f'ed up. Thats just plain ignorance and poor judgement. Some people were just never taught how to be a good person. I apologize kellygunner for him on behalf of other noobs like myself. Thats not right.

Amazing to me the thought process of the guy. Even if you did lie to a guy over the phone that you were "not going to hunt" in the morning when you really plan on hunting....would you really expect to have the spot all to yourself and not consider that the group of guys you just lied to would "most likely" hunt the same spot as the previous weekend!

Not only is the guy dangerous (driving), selfish, and a liar.....but also incompetent!!!

Had the same thing happen to me several years ago by a guy on another site, he may be on here, not sure. Took him to one of my best spots because I thought he could respect my spot and keep his mouth shut. Was wrong on both accounts as he was back in there the following weekend with two of his buddies. I don't hunt with "new" people much anymore unless it's private water.

That is screwed up. Especially for all those people who are truly interested in finding a new sport and would like to start duck hunting. I would not have been as nice as you were if he would have come near my pup.
