Finally broke down and bought a Leupold Mark AR. Mounted on a Burris P.E.P.R.

I've heard lots of good stuff about this optic. Can't wait to get her zeroed in!! up

Funny you should ask...

I thought long and hard about that. Having the 24 inch barrel on this Bushmaster, I know this gun can reach out pretty far. So I was thinking about buying the 4-12x40. But I just don't see me trying to pull off anything longer than a 200 - 300 yard shot maximum, most of the time I'll be within 100 yards, so i went with the 3-9x40.

Nice scope and rifle. I would suggest one thing, though. I would not recommend keeping the bipod clamped onto the barrel. When you are shooting, you will be applying force to the bipod, and this will transfer to the barrel. It will increase your group size, and cause vertical stringing. I would mount a Harris onto your swivel stud, and mount your sling onto the Harris. Any mods clamped directly to the barrel will cause shots to be irregular. Hope this helps!

Good point. Thanks for the advice. A Harris is next on my "upgrade list." up

I was gonna say the same thing. Look into the LaRue LT706/Harris combo. I just got one in 6-9" & it's crazy light, compact & quality as hell!

Make sure you go quick-detach on the Harris.
