I'm looking to fill a couple of spots on 1500 acre lease in the Loving/Jermyn area. Most of the lease is in Young County, with a small part in Jack County. We will have 9 hunters this year, down from 14 last year. There are a couple of people coming back. Price will be $1850 per hunter. Electric/Water included in the lease fee. Campground area for trailers, or you can pitch a tent if you wish. Takes me about one hour and 45 minutes from my house in Arlington to get to the front gate, 96 miles.

I'm about to rush off to a college softball game here in Abilene, so feel free to email me at beez817@gmail.com if you need immediate information. Looking for the right fit. Family oriented, but land owner does not want a bunch of party people looking to get drunk and have a place to hang out for the deer season.

Oh yeah, there are a couple of campers that the leaving members would like to sell. Nothing special, needs a little work, but $500 a piece.

I figured the way people look for leases, would have had more than 2 people ask about it.

Danggggg! This lease changes more than I change socks! First it was 1300.00 a person then 1500.00 and archery hunting only, now it looks like it may have gone back to gun or bow and jumped up to 1850.00. Heck by the time huntin season rolls around it's probably gonna be sling shot hunting only and 2 grand a person! I guess the ranch owner wasnt as deadset on archery only as he was a couple of weeks back.

I would imagine the changes in price have much to do with decreasing the number of spots on the lease. I would rather pay more to have fewer people on a place. IMO, it seems leases are wanting 1 member per 100 acres. That is WAY too crowded for me. I am looking for 2 spots on a place, but I am not going to be crowded. Either way, no reason to jump on someone trying to find some fellow hunters. If you dont like a place, move on.

Might help to post some pics of the deer and other animals you harvested last year.

maxbid, yeah leases have gone up over the past few years even though the economy is going down. I am on this lease with Speed Trap and can tell ya it is a good lease. Very family oriented and good looking country.

That is one way to look at it. The other way is that the 14 hunters( with their guests or family members) overhunted the lease, that there is nothing older than 3.5 years old on the whole place. Than some decided to split since the place is not as good what it used to be. But the lanloard wants to keep the income coming and he could not care less if you gonna see a shooter or not......... bolt

I looked at the place. There is some good looking areas on it and they have a decent camp situation. The guy managing it seemed like a good guy to me and I wish them the best of luck.
