Ok. I have a drop away rest (NAP Apache). What is the little football shaped item that attaches the drop away string to the downward buss cable on your bow. Mine didn't come with that and so I just fasten the string to the cable then put the brass nock pieces on either side. I am a horrible string wrapper and the cable is not the same thickness as the draw string so the nock pieces aren't the tightest. I can slide the string where I attached it to the cable with my hand, but as far as I can tell it doesn't slide when I draw. These football looking things looked like a nice neat and easy way to attache this setup, but just don't know what their called or where I can get them at. If anyone knows or knows a better way to attach the string to the cable I'm all ears. Because right now my setup works but looks like s#@$, and I don't like that.

Sometimes you can seperate the cable right below the serving, slide the drop away sting thru and tie a knot behind.

I don't use any thing to attach it to the cable. The best way is to seperate the cable and then serve it on. You can install it without seperating the cable you just have to make sure the cable from your rest is long enough to when serving. You sure don't want it slipping up.

I prefer to have mine served. I dont like the idea of anything attached to my cable either.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

I bought the same rest. I attempted to tie it to the cable and it worked. It did not look good, but it functioned. I ended up taking it to a bow shop and the guy charged me $10 to serve it through the cable (something I did not feel comfortable doing myself). I functions well, and looks clean. I'd take it to a bow shop.

Guys serving is a simple thing to do,,, look it up on youtube. I don't ever let any bowshop touch my bows.

You're probably right, but this is brand new to me so the peace of mine was worth it.
