Had one of their 44's for a while that thing was built like a tank.

My uncle has a Dan Wesson .357 with multiple, interchangeable barrels. A 2", 4", and 6" i think. Pretty cool revolver.

I thought very hard about buying a Dan Wesson 1911 before deciding to buy a custom by Ed Brown.

You speak the truth about the triggers. My dad has one he bought in the 70s. It still looks brand new. I've never shot it but fondled it many times.

I also have a pointman 3 1911 from DW. Its a great gun. definately a point and shoot gun. it seems to cycle faster than my RIA i had. It would definately be better if it was better taken care of by the previous owner.

I 'sold' my Dan Wesson .357 to a buddy who then moved to Abilene and then never paid a dime for it. That was around 1990. Got the run-around for years, still kicking myself on that one. Blued with beautiful wooden grips.

I handled one at a local shop and almost walked out with it. Beautiful fit-and-finish.

I'm a kinder and gentler person now, lol. But if I had gone to collect it, all those years ago, well let's just say I had too much of a temper back then. Better ultimately, to write the friend off, learn the lesson and move on sometimes. (I'm still not completely sure I believe that, but it's my story and I'm stickin' with it. Lol)

That's a tough lesson, TMc.
Years ago a friend let me carry his brand new, unfired S&W M66---no, it was a 19! on a javelina hunt. About an hour into the foray I reached down to check it and discovered it had fallen out of my holster. We never did find it. It still lays on the ground somewhere near Valentine, Texas.
Several years later I was in a position to pay him back by giving him a nice Black Hawk in .41 Mag. That was an expensive lesson for me, but it was worth it to keep a friend.

Years ago I was shooting a DW 44mag in a match in Notree's, was shooting at rams at 200 and watched the barrel and shroud go about 20 yards down range. 240 grain Keith style cast lead over 22 1/2 grains 2400. End of match, never shot another one.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.
