Possible job transfer may take me to Butte, Montana. Has anyone hunted there or near the area. Any good public hunting lands in montana? Just curious. Ive been told there is a lot of public land to hunt but i wanna know from someone whos been.

Yes, tons. Just got done reading the wingshooters guide to Montana. You didnt state what you wanted to hunt, but if its birds there are tons of public spots. Dont forget about Indian Reservations either.

Some great hunting in MT on BLM land, National Forest and the state has a program for hunters using some private properties for hunting ss well.
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true

Some pretty decent hunting in that part of the state or within a couple hours of butte. Ron spomer wrote a book a fews years back that breaks down the diffrent regions of mt. Its a few years old but worth buying

Block management is the private land owner public hunting I was trying to remember the name of on the earlier post
