I am looking into buying the parts to build a custom Ruger 10/22, and having a local gunsmith put it together for me. I have a rifle look that I am aiming to produce and have found the stock, trigger assembly, and barrel that I would like to purchase. My questions are: How do I know if they will all fit together properly? I know that the action has to be shipped to an FFL but which one is the right one? What other pieces do I need? I've never built a gun before and am really in need of some help in all the pieces required and how do I know if I buy one piece, It will work with the other pieces? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Dusty

I'm going to give my honest $.02 buy an AR15 and a 22 bcg you can shoot 223 and 22 easy to customize and looks cool. Best of both worlds, I've seen people drop serious money into a 10/22 but at the end of the day its still just a 22 and has some pretty serious limitations due to the round it fires.
In answer to your question I would ask the gunsmith you were having build it, if they are competent they can see the parts you are looking at and advise you.

Dusty,

The 10/22 is a pretty standardized platform. Whether you are using off-the-shelf Ruger receiver/bolt, or aftermarket like Clark, Tactical Innovations or Volquartsen they should all accept barrels made for the 10/22 platform.

If you don't already have someone lined up to do the build or if you have any specific compatibility questions, feel free to email or call (information on website link below).
