I can't shoot this fellow due to ARs. This is the single biggest-bodied buck I've seen since I bought the place. He's clearly mature.

I would find a way to get rid of him.. Talk to your warden that should clearly get a pass. Would make a cool euro though!

I even called the Clay CountyGgame Warden to see if I could take or let my kids take the deer and was going to try to explain the looks like four coming out of the skull spikes and he was not really interested in talking to me . I have met a few Game Wardens in the past and all seemed very personable , but this one one acted like I was an imposition and bothering him when I thought that was his job

Just tell him you are a tax payer and you pay his salary so he can have a job so he should listen to you. That should get you his attention and then some. They love to hear stuff like that.

I know they have a tough and dangerous job at times and probably have people trying to get away with stuff all the time , I was just hoping there was some type of this deer needs to go and doesn't fit the ar rules but not what we are trying to keep reproducing permit

That's too bad. Those deer do need to go. Its a shame they keep breeding. I thought the whole point of AR's was to produce bigger racks and better genes?

Wrong in every way. AR's are to promote a better age structure. TPWD got tired of seeing over 60% of bucks being shot yearlings.

Cameron00 - agree with the AR comment, but am curious if you are serious that is the biggest bodied deer you have seen on your place.

If it is, he has bigger problems than ARs. That deer looks middle aged at best to me. Long legs. I might be wrong but Cameron could be .

I'll go through my pics, but yes, that is probably the largest bodied deer I have ever gotten a picture of.

The neighbors 2 properties over (about 400 yards as the crow flies) used to shoot everything. About 7 of them on 100 acres. ARs have been there for 4 years and the deer population has multiplied, but about 8 out of every 10 deer I see are 2.5 or younger. Also a lot of road shooting in my area.

There are zero bucks that get huge and brawny at my place. My neighbor has 2000 acres surrounding me, and he doesn't see any either. Just don't get big there.

Keep in mind that I've only had the place for a little over 2 years, but I've been out there a ton. Never see large-bodied bucks at all.

The does do get large, however, which is weird.

Clay County is loaded with inferior deer. I am done hunting that area. we had twenty five deer at a time in our feed pens in September and
now nothing.
