This one is chambered in 9mm. Pistol shoots just fine, however the 9 round factory magazines absolutely will not fit inside the firearm with 9 rounds loaded. I've tried holding the magazine release/using firm pressure/it's a no-go.
8 rounds. No problem. I am baffled on this, as I've never had it happen on any other semi-automatic. Any idea's fellas? Otherwise, I'll contact Taurus and go from there.

I'd say this: some mags marketed as X-round mags will truly only hold X-1 rounds. I have quite a few semi-autos and I think nothing of having to push pretty hard to get a fully loaded mag to lock into the pistol.

take the mag apart and cut 1 round off the spring. there is no room in the bottom of the mag to compress the 9'th round against the slide.

There's not enough room to compress the 9th round with the slide closed. If you lock the slide back and insert the 9 round, it will go in. You will have to carry it with 8+1. The same thing happens with AR-15 30 round mags. If you run 30 rounds in a 30 round mag, it's hard (or impossible) to get a 30 round mag to seat with the bolt closed.

I have some Mec-Gar magazines for my Sig P229 that are like that, they will only hold 11rds instead of 12rds.
I just load the one in the gun and carry minus one in it.
