Add up your total investment this season, and ask yourself that question again. Pretty simple answer for me ! With diesel/gas prices, corn etc,,,how much are you willing to waste to the dogs ?

Gotta tell you. It's just wrong to kill or get rid of something that wags its tail and wants to play. Hunting for sport can't be that important. Put some food out far a way or chain them up on his property line. With water of couse.

Wife lost her credit card. Noticed the charges were less, so I didn't bother to report it.

Get a cheap bb gun and pepper them every chance tou get. i wouldn't go with the high end air rifle, that might be the end of old spot.

Get some skunk scent. Every time the dogs come out catch them and then hose them down with the stink. Eventually the hippies will get tired of their dogs smelling like skunk and keep them in.

Have you tried talking to the land owners? If they don't care see if you can tie them up. I personally won't shoot a dog unless he/she has shown aggression & given me a real reason to worry. They sound pretty friendly. I too am having the same problem on the feeder that I have near my house. I put a water trough there for them too, but now I have a couple of dogs getting into my property....going for a swim in the trough...& then barking at & running my deer off. I am very not happy about this & have been giving them hell with a bb gun, but believe me I've thought about grabbing a 22 more than once. Especially since I've quit seeing deer because of the dang dogs. I did have a real nice buck coming in too frown My wife would TOTALLY freak out if she "knew :)" that I shot one of them lol! My only problem is that....well I won't lie to my wife, if she was to ask I would have to tell her....that's just me though.

Catch them and lock them up. Give them food and water. If the owners of the dogs won't control them or keep them off your property, then look into the hunter harassment angle.

Loose dogs are bad news. catch them if you can and take them to the owners. Tell them for their own protection to keep them penned or tied up during hunting season. Some folks have no patience with this sort of thing, myself included. personally I would probably shoot them and be done with it.

Here, here. We have a pack, and by pack I mean 7+ under our feeder at one time. I am probably the biggest dog lover on this forum, but sometimes you have to make a statement. I have never killed a dog running through the woods, but if I see this pack they better hope I don't have my AR with me.

Oh, I had a neighbors dog that would come to my fenced in yard and run along the outside harrassing my dogs very early in the morning. I work nights and do not like to be awaken by barking dogs. The dog also began shredding my newspaper while provoking my dogs to bark. I got up, loaded 7 1/2s in my 20 guage, stepped onto the porch, fired into the air, dog bolted and got the next load in the butt. I NEVER saw that dog outside of my neighbor's propery again. It workes very well.
