MY favorite way is to load them with a tractor...

But if that is not an option, for young spikes , I load antler first, grab the antlers, then crawl into back of truck and pull up... I'm sure it is quite a sight.

For bigger deer, I pray that there is a road or a terrace or something near by, pull the deer over by hand, and make it so the tailgate is just a lil bit up off the ground and pull it in.

OR, us a rope to start pulling it up

OR, Pull deer to tree with rope and truck.
Throw rope over tree, pull up by hand or with truck.
Tie off rope and back truck under deer, untie rope, shut tailgate.

Hope u can figure something out.

I had to do this not long ago. I hooked a ratchet strap off to my d ring in the front of the bed of the truck. Then i placed the other around the neck and hooked it to itself. Then i picked up the rack to clear the tailgate which was lowered and pulled the string tight to keep him there. Then i ratcheted him the rest of the way from the front of the bed. Also I think the F bombs helped me more than my gym membership.

Gut it right away...best for the meat for sure and easier to handle. Have a couple 6' 2x6's in your truck and after done gutting it just put the 2x6's from the tailgate to the ground and drag it up into the bed of the truck on the 2x6's. Keep a gallon jub of water in the truck to wash your hands off. We keep a fresh gallon in all our blinds for that purpose.
