This is the 1st year my 10 year old has hunted and he has a youth license. He tagged a nice buck opening day now dad would like to get one also! I was told that his buck goes toward my license. I can't find anything on this and wanted to know if any of you have heard of this.

If you each have a license his buck will be tagged off his license and your buck should be tagged on your license..Just make sure you fill out the back of the license also..

Youth licenses are for the youth. Does not effect yours, as far as state rules apply, unless it could be a lease rule
etc.

I believe that's the main reason there is such a thing as a youth hunting license in Texas. It's for the tags.
