Anyone hunt the Trinity river? What are the guidelines/provisions to hunt on a river? Is it considered a public place to hunt?

The best option for you would be to find out the phone numbers of the game wardens for that county (a simple search on tpwd.com) and call one of them. Lots of mis-information and speculation on how the law applies so straight from the guy who will either write you a ticket or not is the best way to go.

hunt above the dam... launch at Cove marinia off of HWY 19 you will have several miles of log jams and pot holes, that should produce... that lake is COVERED with GWT. (or it least it was when i was in school) do a little scouting and you should do fine... and remember that the airboats leave around 9 of 10 and jump up alot of birds smile

There will be a lot of people out there. And with the water low not many spots you will be able to get to without a mud boat or airboat. Good luck.
