Right now im sitting in my tripod on our 2900 acre lease just outside of trinity. We have been managing it for over 15 years. Weve killed deer over 160 the last two years in a row including a 166 inch ten point i killed last year. Theres already been a 147 nontypical killed last weekend.

Anyways ive been here since yesterday. All i saw yesterday evening was a 3 pt, 4pt, and a 7pt. All of them were 1.5 year old deer. I am hunting an old logging road in a 30 year old pine stand with an oak flat behind me and a old creek bed full of oaks to my left. To my right ive got a three hundred yard shot with a feeder at 140. To my left ive got 90 yards with a feeder. Ive also got a lane in front of me that stretches 220 yards right into some of the best woods on the lease.

While i was typing this a four point walked out at about 75 yards and hes now eating.

A crab clawed nine point just came out and chased of the 4pt. Then his doe came out and ate for about 30 seconds at about 75 yards. The doe walked into the woods. The nine stayed and ate for a minute llonger and then booked it after his doe grunting the whole way. He was a decent deer. Probably 3.5. Decent mass and beams but not overlylarge tines about 17 inches wide. Prolly uupper120s. I didnt get any video my camera was set up on the wrong side.

Just heard a shot on our lease. Probably my brother. He said he was going to shoot a doe. Nevermind 2 shots and hes using a single shot. Hmmmm?

The four point is back. Now hes under the feeder

Played golf for a weekend in Trinity this summer and saw a ton of deer. Pretty area down there.

Just had a buck i call g2 come out and eat for a sec at 100 yards. Hes a main frame eight. His g2s and g3 are all about 10 inches and hes got good brows and beams but hes only 14 inches wide. He comes up high off his head though and hes got a 3inch slit on one of his g2s.

Now g2s and the crab claw nine just crossed together at about 50 yards and i can hear them behind me. G2 is probably in the low 130s but not old enough. He really scrawny.

X2. You've had more buck activity in the last hour and a half than I had all last weekend.

I will be up in the Pennington area this weekend. I hope to see better activity this weekend as opposed to last weekend. It was mostly doe's and the bucks were not chasing them yet.

Sorry i didnt get to finish my morning hunt. After my last post a three point came out and i saw three does.

My brother went out and hunted from 1-3pm and saw five does, and one big eight chasing one of them.

Im back in the stand now after removing the broken thermostat from my 4 wheeler and replacing a rear axle on another one. Evenings have been slower.

From earlier: my brother did end up shooting a doe. Only 8 more to fill our mld qouta.

Ps. Of all the deer activity i had there were three guys on the lease who saw more than i did. One guy saw seven bucks aandnine does. Weve been gun hunting since the beggining of pctober and the big boy are just starting to get after it.

Three large doe came out around 30 minutes ago. They just left. Also have a four point behind where they were. He didnt seem interested in the girls

Well im back in the stand this morning. I havent seen one deer. I just heard my brother shoot about 700 yards away from me. He shot a big seven we have been trying to cull. Im still waiting on the pic. Its 31 degrees and no movement, i guess the full moon has them bedded up right now.
