What is the cheapest way to get into an AR non plum crazy? Complete uppers from Midway for $350? Build the lower myself or just order from the Chimney Sweep?

Probably get into a DPMS or Bushmaster carbon 15 cheaper. Stone Chimney looks like their base price is about $1000. Just my $.02

Our AR15 rifles start at $599. We do build rifles at $1K or more, but the Standard Series is $599.

I just trust an aluminum lower more than the material they use in the long run

i understand the personal prefrence thing. I tell folks this usually when i hear that... Glock has been making polymer framed pistols for YEARS, and are know as one of if not the, most dependable pistols going, and the slide doesnt wear out the frame. Nothing but the internals (self lubricating polymer) on the plum crazy's has any contact with moving parts. also.. bushmaster has been making polymer ar's for a long time.

just my 2cents

I doubt many recreational shooters will ever wear out a Plum Crazy lower. Surprisingly, the trigger is pretty decent too.

couple mag dumps at the end....

Quote
The gun in the video has over 8k rds through it with no issues and no signs of wear on the lower. We routinely do consecutive 30rd magazine dumps, and even 100rd Beta C mag dumps and nothing has melted yet.

Way more than the average shooter will go through.

Your likes and my likes are different.

and I don't even have to justify it.

Folks either do like the Plum Crazy or they don't.

I ain't eating no liver and onions either!

Never asked you to justify it either. In fact, nothing I said was directed toward you. All I did was say I like mine. When glocks came out nobody thought a polymer pistol was worth a @#$% either.

Palmetto State Armory. There isn't a better deal out there right now. I just put together an M16A4 clone using their parts, and I'd say it's equal to my Bravo Company rifle for a fraction the price.

I've read they've had some issues due to the massive growth in customer base, but I am guessing they are very few and far between.

I'd go PSA and never look back.

I'm planning on building a light weight AR with a plum crazy lower too, for a while there I was in the screw some polymer lower that can't be worth a crap, but I figure as cheap as they are why not, plus its something light and easy for my wife to shoot, and maybe me to carry around when I don't feel like lugging my heavier guns around.
