He isn't going to me AR. I think he is about 2.5 to 3.5 years old. I don't remember him from last year. Don't know if it is from injury or bad genetics. Got to love the new camera. These were at about 70 yards. Cull him or not?

I HAD one like that and year to year he was always a little different but never really any thing to consider. I smoked him last day of the season last year.

I would say that buck is 5.5 yrs old at least. It is not genetics that caused the deformity but an injury of some sort. Have seen deer like this many times and then the next season be ok. The only ones that do not recover are those that have pedicle damage. Those bucks with pedicle damage can recover in about 2 yrs and if they do not return to normal then it will stay damaged the rest of their life. It is still not genetics.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

I am not good at judging age, but he was chasing does yesterday like a young buck would pre-rut. I also have not seen any other mature deer yet this year. I figured he was young. So you definitely think take him then?

Old bucks chase doe also Hard to tell from the pics about his age for sure but he looked old to me as a first impression of him with the larger shoulder and neck muscles. Better pics from the side would help. He is at least 3.5 at a minimum. Would I shoot him? I would not if I had no record of a buck looking like this last year or in the past. I would more than likely take my chances on him for another season and see if he grows a normal rack. Your call not mine though. Lastly, is he legal in an AR county?

I know older bucks chase does. But where I hunt, you never see the older bucks until the rut is full on. They stay hidden during all the pre-rut while the young one's chase with futility. The way he was following them around last night was more like a younger immature deer. He are two side pics.

I would still call him 5.5 from those pics. Not all mature bucks act the same. The rut has to start and they will start to show and move at some point. When is your rut?

I think he is 4.5. But I agree that only young bucks are chasing now where I hunt. Older bucks closer to Thanksgiving. What kind of camera is your new one? Pictures look great.

That is unreal how similar the buck in singleshots picture is to the buck Duckkiller is asking about. Almost identical except for the split g2.

It is a Sanyo VPC-E2100. It actually belongs to the Student Council where my fiance teaches. But since she runs the Stu Co, I get to use it. It was also very inexpensive. She didn't want to buy an expensive camera with school funds when 7th graders will just tear it up more than likely. I think it was right at $150, but has a 21x optical zoom and very clear, crisp pictures. It does take forever to focus in at long distances.
