I have never liked the trigger on my 336. Last night I installed a Wild West drop in trigger and wow, what a difference. No more creep and it breaks clean at about 3.5 pounds.
Think I paid $89 at Midway. Money well spent. You can install it in under an hour, in my case all it took was a screwdriver, a pin punch, and a buddy smarter than me.

I've been doing that for about eight years now with the Wolf reduced power spring. It breaks at about 2 lbs.
Installs in four minutes, 10 minutes if you wipe everything down with lube while your in there.
Good Stuff

I've got an 1894s in 41 mag that I have been thinking about outting a happy trigger in. Let me know how it works on the range.

Will do. Just playing with it in the house, the difference is remarkable.

Finally got it out to the range. Definitely a shorter, lighter trigger pull. Groups tightened up a little and I am definitely more confident with it. Money well spent.

Got "Happy Triggers" on 2 of my 3 Marlins, 100% love them. I'll be buying a third very soon!

OUCH!!!! $88.00, for such a small piece of steel!

OUCH!!!! $88.00, for such a small piece of steel! I know. It's a bit of a shock when it comes in the mail. But the difference is significant ...

I've been wanting to do a trigger job on mine for a couple years, but am too scared. I felt the same way. Just recruit a buddy with some mechanical sense and take your time. IT DOES NOT COME WITH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS but you can find them online or PM me if you need them.

I have mechanical sense, just not gunsmithing experience.

I know a smith there at WWG, he did a custom 45-70 for me. I can't tell you how HUGE the difference it makes in those Marlins, its like pulling a bowling ball vs. BB. Granted, mine is custom and not the drop in, but I know the drop in is a pretty significant difference. Spend the $88? it is worth every penny and then some.

Very cool I have been wanting to do one to my 336w. However I love the look of the gold trigger... do they offer it in gold?

And $89 is not bad when you compare it to replacement AR triggers... over $200 for a good improvement on em
