Barnette Jackyl. Cheap, accurate, fast, but not the highest quality. Tip of arrow holder broke as well as one of the tabs on the quiver. Going to send it back to Barnette after the season and make them fix it. Other than that, no complaints.

I have a ten point turbo xlt and love it. A little more expensive, but no complaints whatsoever. Actually for sale in the classifieds section, wanting a compound bow now!

I bought my boys a Wicked River Invader. It is very nice and accurate. It is extremely loud, but most of them are. It feels like a rifle to me. You point and you shoot. There is no skill required. I think they have their place in archery, but not for me. I helped my boys sight it in, and I was bored of it by the time it was sighted in. I am afraid they may be getting bored of it too. It is also very cumbersome.

I am not bashing crossbows. He wanted to know what to expect.

My wife shoots a PSE and it is very accurate and easy to shoot out to 50-60 yards. Also, their customer service is outstanding!! We bought it 1.5 years ago, in the spring of 2010 - she hunted with it last year, killing a nice 8 pt, and this year while shooting it prior to season one of the limbs split...after a call to PSE they had a new one sent to our house NO CHARGE and without even receiving the damaged one back yet.

I've got a Horton Brotherhood. No complaints on it at all, but I've decided archery isn't for me. I like booms too much.

It's listed in the classifieds.

Parker Tornado, light weight, fast enough, good trigger and safety, accurate.

PSE Copperhead (Viper). Haven't killed anything with it yet but I really like shooting it.
