Scouted briefly this AM, oh how angry the rain gods have been this summer...

Anyone know if it's legal to build a pit blind on a public lake? Or on private property at all?

Pit blinds are legal on private property, has to be temporary on public, don't really think you could build a temporary one though.

I guess it would be temporary until the lake came up a foot. grin
Then it'd just be a deep catfish hole in the bottom of the lake!

You're not supposed to build any permit blinds. However, if you dig a hole and call it a hole and not a blind, you should be good to go.

To be sure you don't get into trouble, I'd call the GW for the area rather then opinions from the net.

That would make a huge problem for the next guy when the water rises a foot, not a smart thing to do. That kind of stuff could cause someone their life when the water rises.
