I've seen a number of does, but not so many fawns. I've seen a few bucks, although nothing that would make me pull a trigger, with the exception of a long spike that was trailing a doe. I checked the usual scrape lines again this past weekend and only one had been worked since the rain. We haven't seen nearly as many hogs the last two years, but it looks like they've come back in force.

We have a place in west Texas that is pretty good to us but a friend of ours on the lease called yesterday and said his aunt just bought 285 acres in Carthage... Isn't that in Panola County? If so, is it any good? It won't be our main place but we will defiently go out there, hunting us hunting to us!

Were hoping for no hogs... Deal with enough of them out west!! Were going to look at it for sure, can't hurt anything!

Here!! I haven't seen this many does on camera in a long time. I was skeptical during the summer cause we wasn't seeing any fawns. But after 2 weekends on stand, only seen one doe without a fawn. It's like they came from out of nowhere. Also wasn't gettin any bucks on camera till just a couple weeks ago. Some real good ones started showing up. I won't be able to get back till around Thanksgiving, but have a couple brothers that live there and will get updates till then.

Any of you guys know about the Beckville Hunting Club? Is it just a group of guys or do they have some property out there? I have heard some old men talk about it but not sure if it was still around.

Been there as a guest. That was many moons ago. Back then, it was a big place. Stretched from Hwy 43 to Hwy 59. It was made up of families and each one had their own camps and pretty much certain ground to hunt. I had heard that TXU was going to mine the place, but don't know if they did or now mining it. Haven't been out that way in a long time and a friend of mine that married into the club, I haven't talked to him in years.

I hunt on a friend's 100 acre tract in Panola County. Bow season saw tons of doe and had hogs coming to feeders EVERY night cleaning us out. Trapped 3 hogs, took one doe on 11-11-11. My buddy took a doe in bow season and then a nice 9 point on opening day of rifle season. Hog activity has dwindled down to maybe one or two singles a week. We had several nice bucks on camera coming at night time but in the past 2 weeks NOTHING at all. People think I'm crazy but in the past 2 weeks I have hunted 10 times and have not seen a single deer in shooting range, or any sign of hot does or rutting bucks. And one of the places I hunt is a pipeline where I can see about 400 yards in either direction. Anyone else having the same problem as me? Any suggestions?

I here ya! Im on 100 acre as well. I went out 2 weeks ago and didn’t see a thing! Went out 4 days in a row. Had a bunch of hogs last year and im not seeing anything this year.. I guess they moved to get close to some water or something.. I hope this cold weather will get them coming out.. About a month ago I had does and bucks all on my camera during the day and night but now they are only coming at night. Don’t know what's going on this year.. It’s a funny season..

Is it possible the full on rut hasnt started yet? I havent seen anything but i would think sitting on a pipeline being able to see that far that i would get some kind of clues. Didnt know if the extreme heat/drought this summer would have any effect on it or not? Talked to some buddies who hunt in harrison county just to the north and they said the deer are running everywhere. Seems really strange to me as well this year

does anyone know of a year round lease around Tatum/ Carthage Texas area? Year round- a place to camp, ride 4 wheelers, and hunt. I live near Tatum and would love a place to hang out in the woods and just enjoy being outside.

Not too much on camera and nothing shootable. I have hunted 10 times this season and I have seen nothing during the day. Really frustrated so far this season.
