well there is only one more day until openning day. i know a bunch of us have already been out there with our bows but it is just something about the first weekend of November!!! on the way to work this morning i was already passing so many campers, trucks with four wheelers loaded with corn, etc. Makes a man smile......anyway, i just wanted to say have FUN, becareful, and most of all GOOD LUCK and post those pics.....

Today is dragging. Dad coming in from houston tonight. Will hook up to the camper tonight and pull out first thing in the morning for the 45 minute drive! Wife still doesn't understand she asked me last night "what are ya'll gonna do all day friday". I told her get camp setup, sit around and relax, talk about the same hunting stories we talk about every year, cook up some good food and kill a bottle of crown.
Good luck to everybody and look forward to seeing the pics monday.

I wanted to leave today also but the wife has school tonight! She asks the same question,"What are yall gonna do all day?" Same answer as above. I love listening to my grandads stories from years gone by. I hear them every year and I know this is the weekend they start coming out. It is also cool seeing the convoy of trucks,campers,wheelers and the other stuff that comes with opening weekend. Goodluck all and be safe!!!!!!

I've been doing last minute details at camp,checking feeders,taking out alfalfa,water etc.Already seen 2 bucks running with their noses in the air and got a pic on game cam of a 10pt that's got a busted up rack and another 10pt shooter that has scrapes all over his neck from fighting.The rut is on here in Erath.Good luck to all this weekend. 
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.
