What do you guys do to pull bucks out of the woods to the opening?

I have a deer I've been watching for 2+ years and he always disappears opening weekend of rifle season.

Any suggestions on how to pull him out into the open for a shot?

First and foremost, be patient... If you know he is held up in the thick stuff, try lightly clinking some rattling horns together to get his attention. If he remains reluctant, a snort-wheeze call is also effective. It is an aggressive call and can spook deer/cause them to flee, so I generally try to wait it out.

Be willing to take a lunch and sit there all day. You will surprised what you see in the middle of the day when everyone else is in camp watching ball games or taking a nap.
