Wish mine were old enough! They can only sit on stand with Dad now. That's why I saved my doe tags.

If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

I think youth season is only open sat and sun this year, just FYI

My wife and I are taking our 10 and 13 year old daughters. Last year the 10 year old shot a doe (her first) and the 13 year old shot a buck (her 5th deer) within 10 minutes of each other on opening morning of youth season. Hoping and praying for similar success this year. We hunt Leon County. They are both hopeful for hogs also. What great weather for youth weekend!!!!

Good luck to all the kids out there. Parents, don't forget the cameras!!!!!

I'm taking my 13yo boy out this weekend too. We are headed to Llano right after work/school. Mom decided not to come, so it will be a boy's weekend out. We're pumped! I told him this year he could shoot a buck from my allotment at the lease, so he is looking out for Mr Big! Good luck everyone!

Yes it counts, just in a weird way!

BMD,
No need to lack for a kid to take, my 3 boys have wanted you to adopt them for years after following Kacee and her photos. And I'm in a blind with one of them now. Both they think they are ready for an"upgrade".

Took my 10 year old ou this morning and he got a doe. He has been hunting with me since he was 3 so take them out when you can. They are not very quit at that age but he has always had fun and loves this time of year. Still waiting to get his first buck.
