I along with everyone else am looking for a Lease. My two young sons and I are presently on a large lease with 15 other guns.We are tired of the constantly changing rules and back stabbing by the " Trophy Hunters ". I personally have only shot 3 deer in the past 12 years ( old spike's chasing doe's in the rut ) My boys are responsible and respect the land and animals. We are looking for a small place 100 acers or so for ourselves within 5 hours of Houston. Water and electricity would be a plus.We have Stands & Feeders and a Mule to travel the property. I do not let my boys drive the Mule by themselves.

So you want a lease with small deer? That's what we have on my lease in the hill country!
Sorry, when I read the title of your post, I just coudn't resist.
I realize you have a serious topic, so I won't joke more about it. I'm on a lease west of Austin with 10 guns. In the 3 years I've been on, we've turned it into more of a family friendly lease. Not really any trophy hunters on our lease, but the atmoshphere was not family friendly when I first got on. I've got two boys and with the help of a few others that got on, now most of our members either have kids or a spouse that likes to hunt with them and it makes for a more enjoyable group.
Depending on what happens with our landowner, I may be looking for a place like you describe, but if we have any openings after the season, I'll be posting it here.

I will email you. We went out there this weekend and sweated all weekend. My older son did shoot a 5pt cull.
